About Patrick

My name is Patrick Cannon and I was born in Central Florida and have been a resident of Florida my whole life. After receiving my Associates Degree at South Florida Community College, I moved to Tallahassee in the summer of 2007 to complete my Bachelors from Florida State University. In June of 2009 I married my wife, Brennen, and not long after we bought a house right here in Leon School District 4. I have fallen in love with the Capital City that I now call home.
In 2012 I was appointed to the Florida Rehabilitation Council, which oversees vocational rehabilitation within the Florida Department of Education. Our council reviews and makes recommendations on policies aimed at finding opportunities for people with disabilities as they leave the K-12 system. We also review spending related to these programs to ensure the most effective use of the money aimed at helping people with disabilities.
I want to continue to give back to the community that has given me so much by serving as your Leon County School Board District 4 member. I believe our school district is in dire need of a restart after scandals and questions have eroded public trust in the district. I want to improve on our district for students and teachers, while also helping bring much needed accountability to the district when it comes to fiscal matters and contracts. I would be honored to have your support.
